Web page updates, Resource reminders
I was at the SLA conference last week. I picked up some pointers and was reminded of some resources. So, here's a quick summary of what I found...
IOP: The Institute of Physics reminded me that they have a relatively new, open access, journal out. It's called ERL: Environmental Research Letters. Have a look at it, if you haven't already: erl.iop.org.
IOP has also started something called environmentalresearchweb. It's sort of like an online community with news, job postings, etc. It's free, but to read some content, you have to sign on as a member: environmentalresearchweb.org. I've also put this link on the Environmental Science Library pages, under Web Resources:

environmentalscience/webresources.php
I also stopped by the EPA Libraries' booth. Library closures notwithstanding, they still provide some excellent resources. These include:
* Their online catalogue, which includes tens of thousands of EPA published paper and electronic documents. It also includes documents from the NSCEP (National Service Center for Environmental Publications), APTIC (Air Pollution Information Center), and Groundwater Ecosystems Restoration: www.epa.gov/libraries/ols.htm
There's also a link on the Environmental Science Library pages, under Find Books:

environmentalscience/findbooks.php
I'm not sure if I'll separate out the NSCEP search page as a separate link, but they were marketing it as another service: www.epa.gov/nscep
* Their website also has information and links to Regulatory Dockets, FAQs, and Hotlines & Clearinghouses. I've also put these links on the Environmental Science Library pages, under Web Resources:
