Library Services Over the Break

If you are thinking of working over the break, and of using library materials during this time, there are a few things you need to know:

• All University of Calgary Libraries will close at 12:00pm (Noon) on Monday December 24, 2012 for the Christmas Holidays (and re-open January 2, 2013; check http://library.ucalgary.ca/hours for up-to-date hours)
• The last day for hold requests for material housed in the HDL will be Thursday, December 20th.
• * Hold requests for material placed over the Christmas Holidays will not be processed until January 4th. Patrons will receive an email when material is available for pickup. *
• The IT outage scheduled for Dec. 26-28 covers the following library services (basically, it’s everything, but just to be explicit…):

• Library Catalogue
• Library web pages (http://library.ucalgary.ca)
• All University of Calgary licensed e-books
• All University of Calgary licensed e-journals
• All research databases
• Patrons will not be able to renew materials or place holds online. 
• So, NO electronic access to the library for these three days!
