According to the SEG,
"This richly illustrated reference work gathers and defines terms used by geophysicists in a wide range of applications - in the search for oil and gas, coal, water, and other natural resources; in natural disaster prediction and preparedness; in geotechnical engineering; for environmental analyses; and other investigations of the earth's subsurface. A variety of supporting documents, including conversion tables and a list of Greek symbols, are also provided in this online edition of the SEG best-seller."
